Live with Elli Milan: How to Create a Tasteful Abstract Painting.

What the day is actually like

Come for the painting, stay for the conversation

This is more art lounge than workshop. Elli paints live in mixed media while she talks through every decision, why a color goes down, when a shape gets simplified, when a painting is actually finished. Bring a drink, pull up a seat, and ask whatever comes to mind.

You don't need supplies or experience. Just come curious. You'll leave with a real feel for how a working artist thinks through a piece, not just a technique demo.

Common questions

Do I need to bring anything?

No. There's nothing to paint and nothing to prepare. Just bring yourself, and a drink if you'd like one.

Do I need any art experience?

None. This is a live demo, not a hands-on class. You watch and ask questions; nobody's painting alongside her.

Where exactly is it?

At Milan Art Gallery, 72 S Palm Ave, Sarasota, FL 34236, in downtown Sarasota. Doors open a few minutes before 4pm.

How many people are in the room?

20. It's kept small so it stays a real conversation, not a lecture.

Can I ask questions during the demo?

Yes, that's the point. Ask about a decision the moment you see her make it.

What if I can't make it?
